In a Circle Records will present composer Christopher Cerrone s latest album, The Arching Path. A follow-up to Cerrone s 2019 GRAMMY-nominated The Pieces that Fall to Earth, The Arching Path is a piano-driven, electro-acoustic album of chamber music featuring pianist Timo Andres, percussionist Ian Rosenbaum, soprano Lindsay Kesselman, and clarinetist Mingzhe Wang. The warm, resonant and rhythmic music on The Arching Path is inspired by Cerrone s travels to Italy and composed between 2010 and 2016. The album was produced by longtime Cerrone collaborator, Mike Tierney, who also worked on The Pieces that Fall to Earth. ....

Wu Man, the world s finest player of the pipa (The New York Times), is joined by one of her Silkroad Ensemble bandmates, shakuhachi virtuoso Kojiro Umezaki, on a new album, Flow (流芳), released by In a Circle Records (ICR). The album is currently available for pre-order on Bandcamp (digital and physical) and will be available Friday, February 19, through Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and other major outlets.

Our concert halls went silent in 2020, so it became the year we all had to look elsewhere for musical fulfilment. That meant an almost wholesale migration of live performance to livestreaming, the closest most of us have gotten to live music in 2020. I saw and heard my share, and some will linger long in memory — the Bang on a Can Marathons, Igor Levit’s series of Hauskonzert solo recitals, Metropolitan Opera productions. In the end, though, hunkering down with a laptop and headphones, or trying to fend off distraction in a busy household, only served to remind me how mediated, how ....
