A popular Tauranga transfer station is closing to the public partly due to an unacceptable level of pollution seeping into stormwater drains.
The announcement comes as part of a $20.5 million overhaul to the city s waste management services in which the Maleme Street Transfer Station will close while a new facility will be built as part of a major upgrade to the Te Maunga Transfer Station.
It was also expected that much of the transfer station s services would no longer be as needed with the start of the council s kerbside waste collection in July. ....

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporationâs (KMC) anti-encroachment department has started demolitions of leased houses and commercial units surrounding Karachiâs mighty Gujjar Nullah.
The Gujjar Nullah is a natural drain in the city that starts flowing from New Karachi and ends at the Chuna Depot in Haju Mureed Goth, Teen Hatti, where it falls into the Lyari River. The original length of the nullah was 13 kilometres and it was 210 feet wide. In a massive anti-encroachment operation planned at Gujjar Nullah in the District Central on Monday, the corporation started demolitions of proper houses at three different points. ....

Poly Medicure slipped 2.47% to Rs 860 as the counter witnessed some bit of profit taking after a recent steep surge.
The stock had gained 23.68% in the past five sessions to end at Rs 881.75 yesterday (15 March 2021), from its recent closing low of Rs 712.95 recorded on 2 March 2021.
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the stock has zoomed 69.85% while the benchmark Sensex has added 6.04% during the same period.
On the technical front, the stock s RSI (relative strength index) stood at 83.01. The RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Traditionally, the RSI is considered overbought when above 70 and oversold when below 30.
The stock was trading above its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day daily simple moving average (SMA) placed at 609.15, 553.82 and 476.58, respectively. ....
