While Portland reached a record temperature of over 110 degrees Sunday afternoon, people gathered at Keller Fountain Park to take a dip and cool off.
“When will this be over?” was the question likely on every Portlander’s mind Monday as temperature records fell for a third-straight day.
The historic heat wave overwhelming the region led to all-time high temperatures records falling across the state over the weekend and on Monday.
Portland hit 115 degrees Monday afternoon, setting a new record high temperature for the third day in a row, according to the National Weather Service. Before the weekend, Portland’s record high temperature was 107, first set in 1965. ....

Under the wail of passing trains, Portland’s Old Town residents and business owners swap stories of the latest neighborhood goings on. Their conversations repeat themselves week after week.
