Lubbock Police on Tuesday afternoon made an arrest after being called out to the scene of a shooting in north Lubbock.
When officers arrived at a residence in the 500 block of North Flint Avenue, they found a 16 year old who had been shot. The teen was later pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Sixty-four-year-old Kimberly Hozempa (pictured above) was attempting to clean a firearm when it discharged. According to LPD, the bullet from the gun traveled through a wall and struck the 16 year old in another room.
Hozempa was arrested and immediately charged with Negligent Homicide. He s been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
