A woman died after being struck by a car in Spring Lake early Thursday morning, officials said.
A little before 6 a.m., police officers responded to a call in the 1200 block of North Bragg Boulevard in regard to a car hitting a pedestrian, according to a release from the Spring Lake Police Department. When they arrived, police found 41-year-old Venita Robinson of Spring Lake unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead on scene.
The 55-year-old man who was driving the vehicle that hit her sustained no injuries, police say. Police Chief Troy McDuffie said that because the investigation is ongoing, the department is not releasing the driver s name but hopes to do so in the near future. ....
