Multiple crashes were reported along Lancaster County roads Sunday as snow began to cover roadways, according to a supervisor with Lancaster Countywide Communications. At least âeight or nineâ different crashes had been reported by 11 a.m., the supervisor said. None of the crashes were causing major traffic disruptions as of late Sunday morning, the supervisor said. At least one person was injured in a crash in Rapho Township on Route 283 West and Route 772 when a pickup truck flipped over, the supervisor said, though the number of people injured and the extent of their injuries was unknown. ....
Hit-and-runs have become a common occurrence in Lititz in recent weeks, according to the Lititz Borough Police Department. Police are looking into seven hit-and-run incidents since Jan. 4, the department said. Hit-and-runs continued to be reported as recently as Wednesday, when an unknown vehicle struck a legally parked car in the 400 block of North Cedar Street sometime during the night of Jan. 19-20. Only two of the alleged hit-and-run drivers have been identified. Jovel Romero, 44, of Lititz, was charged with traffic citations after striking a parked vehicle at Warwick Middle School just after 3 p.m. on Jan. 4, police said. Brent Eckert, 33, of East Petersburg, was cited for damaging unattended property after striking a curb and hitting two mailboxes, abandoning his disabled vehicle not far from the scene of the crash, just after 11 a.m. on Jan. 9, police said. ....
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF DENVER: Paul Gordon, 30, of Adamstown, was charged with criminal mischief after damaging a vehicle on the first block of West Church Street at 6:43 p.m. on Dec. 14, police said. Gordon caused an estimated $1,778.64 in damage to the vehicle, police said. DUI EAST COCALICO TWP.: Megan Ebling, 33, of Ephrata, was charged with multiple DUIs and other traffic offenses after crashing into two vehicles on the first block of South Reamstown Road on Nov. 14, police said. Ebling hit one oncoming vehicle and left the scene before striking another vehicle head on, police said. Both vehicles that were hit had children in them, though there were no serious injuries, police said. ....
