Breckenridge Grand Vacations’ proposed development on the North Gondola and Gold Rush lots was presented to the Breckenridge Planning Commission at a preliminary hearing Tuesday, and though a few concerns were raised, commissioners had overall positive comments for the project.
Despite being in the early stages of the town planning process, the proposed development has been a hot topic in Breckenridge, inspiring letters to the editor and being referenced in Breckenridge Town Council meetings. But before the project can move forward, it first has to get a thumbs up from the planning commission. Letter to the editor: Another huge parking structure proposed for Breckenridge

Breckenridge Grand Vacations has submitted a master plan application to the town of Breckenridge to develop the North Gondola and Gold Rush lots. Included in this plan are a hotel and condos in the North Gondola Lot, condos in the South Gold Rush Lot and a large 1,040 space parking structure in the North Gold Rush Lot. The plans also include erecting a new connecting gondola on top of the parking structure to transport people over Park Avenue to and from the main gondola base. A roundabout with four pedestrian crosswalks is planned for the intersection of Park Avenue and French Street. ....

Preliminary hearing scheduled for Breckenridge Grand Vacations project

Late-season skiing at Breckenridge to move to Peak 8

Spring skiing is here, and Breckenridge Ski Resort is moving to its late-season operations plan. The ski resort’s five peaks will remain open through April 18, but on April 19, skiing and snowboarding will be available only out of Peak 8. Resort spokesperson Sara Lococo noted in an email that in 2019, late-season operations were based out of Peak 7 but have switched to Peak 8 this season because construction on the new Peak 7 lift
begins this spring.
, intermediate, advanced and expert terrain will be open on Peak 8 along with Imperial Bowl, Peak 7 Bowl, Horseshoe Bowl and Contest Bowl as long as conditions allow. No beginner terrain will be available. Lifts that will remain open after April 18 are the Colorado SuperChair, Rocky Mountain SuperChair, T-Bar and Imperial Express. Breckenridge Grand Vacations prepares plans for residential units, parking structure on North Gondola and Gold Rush lots

Plans are in the works for Breckenridge Grand Vacations to build residential units and a parking structure on Breckenridge’s North Gondola Lot, North Gold Rush Lot and South Gold Rush Lot.
While the development proposal has not yet been submitted to the town of Breckenridge, Breckenridge Grand Vacations can build 143 single-family equivalent units per town code, which also requires the developer to provide a certain amount of parking and workforce housing units along with the development.
How that 143 single-family equivalent figure translates in units depends on the type of units built, Breckenridge Community Development Director Mark Truckey explained. If the developer wanted to build condominiums, for example, one single-family equivalent would equal 1,200 square feet of condo space. ....
