The vice president of North Carolina’s largest teachers’ association is a self-described Marxist activist linked to an organization that follows the teachings of communist dictators including Vladimir Lenin and Mao Zedong.
Bryan Proffitt began his term as the vice president of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) on July 1, 2020. The NCAE boasts a membership base of over 43,000 educators and earning over $8 million a year in revenues. When Proffitt was elected, many in the NCAE talked about how the associated “had been taken over by ‘radicals. ”
Upon his ascension to the association’s vice presidency, Proffitt said that he will use his term to push against the privatization of public schools, especially during the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. ....

    The North Carolina Association of Educators Political Action Committee (NCAE PAC) included in its second-quarter 2020 finance report contributions to Gov. Roy Cooper s and NC Sen. Dan Blue s campaigns in excess of the legal limit.
    To clarify what was going on, the Civitas Institute filed complaints with the NC State Board of Elections (SBE) asking them to investigate, noting that Per the NCAE PAC s second-quarter 2020 campaign contribution disclosures, they have violated campaign contribution law.
    I have just received word from the SBE that they have completed their investigation into the NCAE PAC. Here are their key findings: ....
