Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputies recovered the body of a 50-year-old woman Saturday after her car was swept away and buried by a landslide in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this month.
Jennifer Moore was driving her SUV as part of a caravan of cars of family members who were evacuating the Dodson and Warrendale areas at about 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 13. Authorities had advised residents of the area to leave their homes due to torrential rains that night that had increased the risk of flash floods and landslides.

JOLIET, IL Three 21-year-old Joliet men and a 17-year-old boy were captured by Joliet police Saturday night following a high-speed chase that ended with a crash into another motorist s car at the northeast frontage road near Fiday Road. Eventually, Joliet police say they recovered a loaded gun from the fleeing car and made four arrests.
The four people in the fleeing car were being pursued from a drive-by shooting on Joliet s southeast side, in the 100 block of Fifth Avenue, police said.
