One of the three men charged in connection to the robbery and kidnapping of Justin Sawyer on Wednesday requested a bond reduction and to be released on an ankle monitor.
Dawuan T. Davis, 20, appeared via Zoom in front of Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins of Christian County. Davis has been incarcerated at the Christian County Jail since January.
Sawyer went missing December 17.
His body was found in Northeast Clarksville in early March.
The two others who were arrested in connection to Sawyers disappearance Marquell Devont’e Sims, 22, and Gene Doug Henry, 36, both of Oak Grove were released from jail in January. Henry was released on his own recognizance; Sims is wearing an ankle monitor.
Justin Tyler Sawyer s body has been found in Northeast Clarksville 76 days after his disappearance on Dec. 17.
After a lengthy, two-month search with unanswered questions of Sawyer s whereabouts, his family now plans to lay him to rest.
On Tuesday, Sawyer s body was found on Kennedy Road off Trenton Road, a residential area with homes, several churches and woodland.
The following day, medical examiner s office in Nashville examined Sawyer s body, confirming his identity. It has been a long journey, said his father, Ricky Sawyer. With us finding his remains, that can bring a degree of closure. Now we can give him a proper homegoing service and start the healing process.
