The annual fundraising campaign, which is normally one large walk, is being split into multiple small-scale walks this year due to the pandemic. People can participate in the walks through June 30th. Donating to events like this, donating online, anything that anyone can do to help makes a big big difference, especially right now, said Habitat for Humanity 7 River Executive Director Adam Lacher. ....
Facing soaring construction costs, Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine creates 2-month long Walk to Build Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine’s 28 th Annual Spring Walk to Build will kick off Sunday, May 2, 1 p.m. at the Dipper Cove Clubhouse in Orr’s Island, and conclude June 30, with several small COVID safe walk events scheduled in between. Habitat is asking folks to choose a date anytime between May 2 and June 30 and pick a location where they can still practice safe social distancing. Hundreds of local walk participants and area business sponsors are expected to raise over $60,000 for affordable housing by June 30.
