(Shutterstock) FALMOUTH, MA Hundreds of teachers from across Cape Cod and Massachusetts gathered Tuesday outside Falmouth Public Schools District Office to protest school administrators attempts to fire the president of the Falmouth Educators Association. The Massachusetts Teachers Association accused Falmouth Superintendent Lori Duerr of taking disciplinary action against FEA President Lori Andrade for filing contractual grievances on behalf of teachers. According to MTA officials, Duerr placed Andrade on paid leave in April and has since signaled her intention to fire Andrade. ....

Falmouth teens charged in the brutal beating of Franklin boy FALMOUTH Two Falmouth teens face assault and battery charges after a 17-year-old Franklin boy was kicked and beaten until he was unconscious during a party in August. The injured boy, who was visiting Falmouth, suffered a concussion and two fractures in his jaw on Aug. 15. His father brought him to Falmouth Hospital, and he was later admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital for possible brain bleeding, according to a redacted copy of the incident s police report. The accused teens, one 16 the other 17, are both charged with assault and battery with serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and simple assault and battery in Falmouth Juvenile Court. One of the teens had a pretrial hearing on Dec. 11 and the other had a pretrial hearing on Jan. 8. ....
