Karl Eastaughffe launched Taboo a decade ago, thinking it would be short-term gig but the club has gone from strength to strength. When Taboo started, I was only giving it two to three years max … but 10 years later, we re going absolutely strong, Mr Eastaughffe said.
Taboo is one of the few family-friendly drag clubs in Australia and the queens have helped mentor Logan as he navigates the world of drag.
The personal lives of some of the queens was the subject of a documentary earlier this year - and there are now plans to take Logan s story even further with full-length feature film.
Construction has already begun on a 148K SF retail space that will serve as the anchor tenant for the mixed-use development.
The Grid is being developed by StreetLevel Investments and joint venture partner Provident Realty Advisors. Construction of the 192-acre mixed-use development began in 2018 and will be completed in multiple phases.
Some of the offerings include 350K SF of retail, restaurant and entertainment concepts; 2,400 residential units; 500K SF of creative office space; multiple hotel brands and concepts; a health club; a network of pocket parks, jogging and bike trails; and activated public space. Architecture firm Gensler and landscape architecture company TBG are consultants on the project.

Milking shorthorn dairy cows might raise a red flag with bank managers but the breed is making great genetic gains and has more to offer than other breeds, a South Otago farmer says.
New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association vice-president Logan Kelly owns 600 milking shorthorns across five farms in Otago and Southland.
