Monrovia, Liberia:  The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, on Friday, January 22, 2021 received Letters of Credence from the new United States Ambassador to Liberia, Michael A. McCarthy, at his Foreign Affairs Ministry office.
 
President Weah used the occasion to thank President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their inauguration and the peaceful transition of power from the administration of former President Donald Trump.
President, who described the US as a model of democracy around the world, said Liberia takes special note of the transition, given the fact that “we also went through similar transition three years ago.” ....

(Monrovia, Liberia): The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 dedicated the newly constructed state-of-the-art Corporate Headquarters Complex of the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC).
 
This is yet another landmark achievement of the government s infrastructural development drive, one that seeks to move public institutions from private and/or shanty office structures to their own buildings. 
In a brief statement at the dedication ceremony, the Liberian Chief Executive said: “Today we are here once again to witness another important milestone in the history of this country: the dedication of the very first purpose-built Administrative Building of the LPRC since its establishment more than 40 years ago.” ....

MONROVIA – As challenges confronting Liberia and its citizens continue to escalate as a result of deepening economic crisis in the country, A Liberian humanitarian based in the United States has blasted at members of the 54th National Legislature for not doing enough to help improve the country’s economy for the benefits of the nation and those who elected them at the helm of power.
According to Mr. Feikai Oldman Sarnor, the Executive branch of the Liberian government which is headed by President George Manneh Weah cannot solely be held responsible for the declining state of the country’s economy. ....
