Hong Kong resident got 3 Covid-19 jabs after not telling doctor or staff about medical history

South China Morning Post
Health officials revealed on Sunday that a Hong Kong resident had received three doses of Covid-19 vaccine, and urged private doctors taking part in the city’s inoculation drive to check jab records before administering shots.
The 32-year-old man had his first dose, a BioNTech jab, at a community vaccination centre on March 12. He then went to a private clinic on March 28 and received the Sinovac vaccine, before returning to a vaccination centre on Sunday (April 11) for his second BioNTech shot.
His doctor reported the man on March 28 after checking the patient’s electronic vaccination record, but only after the Sinovac jab had been administered. The 32-year-old had not disclosed that he had already received his first BioNTech dose during his consultation with the doctor, according to a Department of Health statement issued on Sunday evening. ....

A specialist in respiratory medicine said on Monday that people who have spent time in India, Pakistan and the Philippines should be banned from coming to Hong Kong for as long as it takes for the coronavirus situation in those places to improve.
The government has announced a two-week ban on flights from the three countries after identifying two community cases in the SAR of a highly-infectious mutant strain of Covid-19.
Anyone who has stayed in these countries for more than two hours in the previous 21 days is also banned from flying into Hong Kong via other places. ....

Why is Hong Kong's coronavirus 'vaccine bubble' plan already drawing flak?

Reuters
Hong Kong’s incentive-laden plan to boost its sluggish Covid-19 vaccination uptake has prompted an outcry from some of the sectors most affected by the looming rules changes.
Hailing it as a “new direction in fighting the pandemic”, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor on Monday (April 12) unveiled a “vaccine bubble” scheme that would allow for the easing of numerous social-distancing measures, including changes tied explicitly to Covid-19 vaccinations.
The plan, which aims to push the city towards eventual herd immunity, will give vaccinated residents greater freedom to dine out in bigger groups, travel abroad and visit care homes. ....

Health experts have backed calls for fully vaccinated travellers from Covid-19 low-risk countries to be allowed quarantine-free entry into Hong Kong subject to conditions such as mandatory testing.
The city s tourism lawmaker on Friday also said a proposal to partially lift Covid-19 restrictions for visitors from mainland China will fail to revive the sector.
Officials are looking at expanding the Return2HK scheme - which welcomes back Hongkongers from Guangdong province or Macau without them undergoing mandatory 14-day quarantine - to other parts of the country, as well as offering the exemption to non-residents crossing the mainland border. ....
