Cllr Peter Whatley, who represents Alfrick and Leigh for Malvern Hills District Council, will stand as the Independent candidate for Malvern Link. KNIFE-wielding yobs threatened a couple in the street in a worrying incident in Leigh. The pair took to social media to say that a number teenagers armed themselves with knives and made threats in Broadway, on Sunday at about 6.30pm. Police have confirmed they are investigating after a “man threatened another man with a knife”. It comes days after another incident in Pall Mall where a 25-year-old man was approached by two men, one of which pulled out what the victim believed was a knife and “lunged at him” with it. Taking to Facebook, the victim of Sunday’s attack said: “At about 6.30pm we were walking down Leigh Broadway when we were approached by a group of rowdy and angry boys. ....
