United Way Hosts Inaugural Celebrate Awards To Recognize Local Nonprofits And Volunteers

United Way of Greater Chattanooga and its nonprofit support arm Venture Forward virtually hosted the inaugural Celebrate Awards event on Tuesday. Three awards were presented to the winning finalists in the categories of Innovation in Action, Volunteer of the Year, and Nonprofit of the Year. The finalists and winners for each award were selected by third-party volunteer judges from a pool of nominees submitted online from individuals in and around the greater Chattanooga area.
The Innovation in Action award, sponsored by Bridge Innovate, was presented to Clínica Médicos for the agility and ingenuity they utilized to provide full access healthcare throughout the pandemic. Other nominees included WTCI-PBS and Reflection Riding Center. ....

United Way Of Greater Chattanooga’s Restore Hope Fund Has Helped 1,132 Households

United Way of Greater Chattanooga announces that the Restore Hope Fund has assisted 1,132 households, including 1,719 adults and 1,505 children, in the greater Chattanooga area. 
In March of 2020, the Restore Hope Fund was launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to support the greater Chattanooga community. The fund was designed to assist individuals and households experiencing lost wages or other adverse circumstances due to the COVID-19 crisis. 
United Way partnered with 12 local nonprofit agencies to support the needs of those directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including La Paz, Boys and Girls Club of Chattanooga, Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, Rock Bridge Community Church, Helen Ross McNabb Center, Clinica Medicos, Bethlehem Center, Chattanooga Area Command, Northside Neighborhood House, Partnership for Families, Child ....

The Chattanooga Chamber Foundation and the Regions Foundation, a nonprofit initiative of Regions Bank, today announced ongoing support for a skills and workforce development program that serves job-seekers living in parts of Hamilton County hardest hit by unemployment before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supported by a donation of $90,000 from the Regions Foundation, the Skill Up initiative provides more than 45 people with six weeks of training in advanced manufacturing, customer service and information technology. ....
