The Seal Beach Police Department is ringing in the New Year by promoting four officers to the ranks of corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant.
In September of 2020, the Seal Beach City Council approved a comprehensive Police Department Reorganization Plan. With the approval of this plan, the Seal Beach Police Department was approved to promote two police sergeants to the rank of lieutenant. This restructuring will ensure that patrol officers, including patrol sergeants, will remain in the field and be available to respond to emergencies in the community. The newly promoted lieutenants will assume much of the administrative works that is required of a modern, professional law enforcement agency. As a result of the lieutenant promotion, this also created a vacancy for a sergeant and corporal. ....
