The Libertarian, Independent and Democratic candidates did attend and answered a number of questions covering a wide range of issues of importance to the people of the commonwealth and how they would work to address them as state senator. In the updated PennLive article published on April 20, the day of the scheduled event, Christopher Gebhard stated that he had a meeting and could not attend the forum. Gebhard never responded to numerous requests to select an open date for the forum during the weeks of April 12 through 19.

Lebanon County Republicans censure Senator Toomey over impeachment

Edward Lynch, Lebanon County Republican Committee chairman, said he received numerous calls and emails from the general public and the committee requesting a resolution to censure Toomey. The (censure resolution) is very specific to the constitutionality of the impeachment process, he said. I sent that out to the members and waited a week to receive their votes. And it was overwhelmingly in support of censure, by a margin of 10 to 1.   Members of the Lebanon County Republican committee felt the impeachment proceedings were unconstitutional, Lynch said. The United States Constitution specifically states in Article 1 Section 3 that if the president is tried for impeachment, the chief justice of the United States Supreme Court shall preside, he said as an example. And Chief Justice Roberts did not preside at the impeachment proceedings.
