LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police departments everywhere are suffering officer shortages. Last week, the FOP spoke out about how critical the situation is at the Lexington Police Department, saying the city isn t prioritizing the problem.
By the end of June, the Lexington Police Department is expected to be 100 officers short, a number the FOP president says may go up even more with a dozen additional officers applying for other police jobs. The union questions how seriously city leaders are taking the growing number of departures. ....

UK, Cityscape Residential Break Ground On New Residential Village At Coldstream

  The 260-unit, multi-family residential complex will offer Coldstream’s high-tech workforce the ability to live, work, play and innovate all within the research campus.
The residential village will be named FIFTEEN51 Apartments, based on the address at 1551 Aristides Boulevard.
“At the University of Kentucky, we are strategically and thoughtfully expanding both our campus and our relationships with partners in Lexington and beyond,” said UK President Eli Capilouto. “FIFTEEN51 will create a new, workforce-friendly environment in the Lexington community. FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) –  The combined efforts of the Kentucky Attorney General’s office, and the governments of Louisville and Lexington, among other intervenors, have led to a settlement scaling back a proposed rate hike by Kentucky Utilities and LG&E.
“As the watchdog for Kentucky ratepayers, we pursued a settlement with LG&E and KU that saves Kentuckians more than $113 million in proposed utility rate increases and ensures the companies will not impose an additional rate increase before July 1, 2025,” said Attorney General Daniel Cameron.  “The settlement also seeks to ma ....
