Outbound lanes of Sunset Blvd. closed due to motorcycle colission

LEXINGTON, S.C. All lanes are back open on Sunset Blvd. at Palmetto Blvd. in Lexington after a collision involving a motorcycle closed the outbound lanes, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Lexington Police say the accident was caused by a driver following too closely and loosing control of the motorcycle.
Sunset Boulevard was closed for several hours, and drivers were asked to take an alternate route. Traffic was being detoured around the scene through a business parking lot.

Lexington PD asking for help identifying suspects wanted for the theft of catalytic converters

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted for stealing catalytic converters from Michaelis Mattress on April 18. Police say the individuals cut three catalytic converters off trucks at the mattress store.
LPD needs to identify the individuals involved in the theft of catalytic converters from vehicles at Michaelis Mattress on April 18, 2021.

Midlands law enforcement collects hundreds of pounds of medication on Drug Take Back Day

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– This past Saturday, law enforcement agencies across the state, in coordination with the DEA, held Drug Take Back Day. Several Midlands agencies say it was a successful day.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department nearly 430 pounds of unused and expired medications were collected in the county. The Lexington Police Department tweeted out that they collected 10 large bags of unused medication.

Police say the individual attempted to break the glass on a door to the store and fled the scene once the grocery store’s alarm was activated.

Lexington, SC (WOLO) Lexington Police say one of their main priorities is making sure residents and those coming into the area are staying safe. The department saying they have been working on ‘improving traffic safety’, but when it comes to people driving under the influence, officials say the numbers are becoming a concern.
According to Lexington Police, they have made 60 D.U.I arrests in just the first four months of the new year and what’s worse, is they say a majority of them are taking place during the day when the roads in the area are often the busiest. According to police, some of these arrests have taken place after either collisions or traffic stops. ....
