The Bye Bye Man is not real. Well, probably not. Unless … maybe? Like many urban legends, the titular character of the new horror movie opening this weekend is based on some shreds of circumstantial evidence, a lot of I once had this friend level of oral storytelling and familiar iconography. An albino hobo originally hailing from the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans in the 1920s, the Bye Bye Man is said to have evolved into a supernatural entity with a grudge after being orphaned and treated like an outsider. Wearing a pea-coat and wide-brimmed hat atop his long hair, he also sports painted sunglasses and has a tattoo on his wrist. ....
Letters: Taylor Esposito What They Say: Mystere has been an orphan, a victim, a lover, and a queen. But through it all she has always been Mary Medina. Now, residing in downtown New Orleans and in charge of her life for the first time, everything is going perfectly. That is, until a new threat, or make that threats, have come to menace the life of our local necromancer, and after this outing she might be the one in need of resurrection. With his disturbing work now done this ....
The Real-Life Witches Behind The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina YouTube While The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a fictional creation, the show s creators have based quite a few of its concepts on real-world ties to witchcraft and the occult. They include real modern day pagans like production designer Lisa Soper, who told Refinery29 that some things like the show s sets, props, and spells are the real occult deal. Witches, in fact, have been part of history for a very, very long time. They re arguably represented far back into human prehistory, according to the Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory. Consider all of the apparently ritual objects uncovered by excavators, some of which appear to have been destroyed as part of a religious ritual. More directly, named witches and magic workers show up fairly early in the historical records, says History. They include the mysterious Witch of Endor mentioned in the Bible s Book of Samuel, wr ....
Abbeville Student’s Pig and Community Honors Her After She Dies The compassion that our community has is what I love about Acadiana the most. The love that was shown for Kaylee McLain is the perfect example. Kaylee McLain died just a few days before Christmas in an accident, gaining her angel wings on December 10, 2020 at the innocent age of 10. Needless to say, Kaylee’s family and friends, along with the community, were devastated. McLain attended Mt. Carmel in Abbeville, where she was in 4-H and raised her pig, Pearl. Who would have ever known that her pig, Pearl, would have such a huge impact on her memory? Camille Floyd, a teacher at Mt. Carmel in Abbeville where McClain attended school, reached out to me and told me her story and I’m so grateful she did. ....
