View Comments MANCHESTER A woman wielding a large kitchen knife while walking to a family member’s house in the Cedar Glen Lakes neighborhood to start a confrontation was taken into custody after a daring intervention by township police officers on Monday, according to authorities. Margaret Dennis, 74, of the Whiting section, was seen walking in the area of Nevada Drive and Louisiana Way about 12:45 p.m. with the knife which triggered a police response. The woman also stabbed “the hood of an occupied vehicle,” said Lt. Vincent Manco, a police spokesman. While Patrolman Anthony Iliadis distracted her with conversation, Patrolman Arthur Cronk approached Dennis from behind and was able to disarm the woman by sneaking up behind her and grabbing her hand, Manco said. ....
