North Oaks Medical Center names new postoperative director

HAMMOND â Tyler Brignac has been promoted to postoperative director of North Oaks Medical Center, bringing 10 years of patient care and management expertise to his new role.
The hospitalâs verified and certified Level II Trauma Center will remain under Brignacâs auspices as it has for the past four years. He will add the responsibility of leading the Ortho/Neuro, General Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care Units. As director, he will oversee staff education, clinical practice supervision, maintenance of appropriate care resources, budgeting and compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
âTyler has forged strong working relationships with our staff at large and excels at coordinating patient care across multiple areas of the health system. No doubt, this will continue to serve him well in his expanded role,â said Terri Lewis, vice president of Emergency and Surgical Services at North Oaks Medical Center. âHe is truly dedic ....

Due to the increase in impaired driving-related fatalities around the holidays each year, law enforcement agencies across Louisiana will be out in force actively looking for impaired drivers.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office will be aggressively working during the holidays and will show zero tolerance for impaired drivers on the roads. If you are going to be drinking, designate a sober driver ahead of time, or call a friend or family member.
The campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, is a partnership with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to curb impaired driving and save lives. Dec. 18 through Jan. 1, law enforcement will show zero tolerance for impaired driving. Increased officers on the road aim to drastically reduce the toll of drunk driving. ....

Over the weekend, Bossier Sheriff’s Office deputies and other officers showed some the errors of their thinking. They screened nearly 250 vehicles and made seven arrests during a sobriety checkpoint in the 5400 block of Airline Drive on Friday night into early Saturday morning. ....
