Explosion At UK Wastewater Plant Kills Four A major explosion at a UK wastewater treatment facility left four employees dead and another seriously injured late last week. “The blast happened in a silo containing treated biosolids and was not terror related, police said,” according to a report from the BBC. “A witness reported hearing a ‘very loud explosion’ that ‘shook buildings,’ and another said they saw about 10 ambulances driving to the scene.” Three of the people found dead as a result of the blast worked full time for the facility, Wessex Water located in Avonmouth, Bristol. The fourth was a contractor. The injured individual was reported to be in a non-life-threatening condition. ....

Luke Wheaton and three men died following an incident at a Wessex Water recycling centre in Avonmouth on December 3. Avon and Somerset police have confirmed those who died were Ray White, aged 57 of Portishead, Brian Vickery aged 63 of Clevedon, Mike James, aged 64 of Bath and Luke, who studied at Weston College.
