Hanners, 20, won his Meadowlands debut last week and continued his streak to break his Monticello debut in fashion.
Starting from post three, Cheyenne Ryan Lee was content to follow Foo Fighter N, the winner of last week’s Open Pace, who left the gate strong from post seven to cut the fractions of :27.2, :56 and 1:24.2. Once the passing lane was clear, Hanners went to the inside to overtake Foo Fighter N by two lengths in 1:53.3.
