Ludington Area Schools Participate in National Bike to School Day

9 & 10 News May 5, 2021 May 5 is National Bike to School Day, and students at Ludington Area Schools are joining their peers nationwide this morning to bike to school. On average, 50,000 students from over 250 schools in Michigan take part in this event, as well. This first National Bike to School Day started in 2012 as a way to kick off the month of May, which is National Bike Month. Since then, the event has grown in popularity. This is the first year Ludington Area Schools are participating. Students from local elementary schools and OJ DeJonge Middle School will bike from Oriole Football field to their schools around 7:30.

Two Students Test Positive for COVID-19

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Families: The District has been notified that two (2) students at Ludington Area Schools have tested positive for COVID-19. A student at Ludington High School has tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. This has resulted in nine (9) students being quarantined as close contacts to this positive COVID-19 case, as the student was at school, but asymptomatic this past week. Next, a student in one of the GSRP preschool classrooms tested positive for COVID-19. This student was also asymptomatic and present at school this past week resulting in the entire GSRP classroom being quarantined at Pere Marquette Early Childhood Center.
