May 8, 2021 There will not be a Memorial Day parade this year in Leetonia and Washingtonville, but those Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten. After the presenting on the wreaths at the Washingtonville VFW at 9 a.m., the Leetonia American Legion will host a ceremony at Wick Park in the village. The speaker will be Gordon Fediaczko. Although the Leetonia High School band will not be able to march, it will be on hand to play. All are welcome to attend. People will then go to Oakdale Cemetery for a short ceremony at the memorial to Ralph Diaz, a Congressional Medal of Honor winner from Leetonia who lost his life in the Vietnam War. ....
