Pereda was named 2020-21 Venezuelan Winter League Rookie of the Year on Saturday.
The Venezuela native went 45-for-133 (.338) with a .421 on-base percentage, .421 slugging percentage, .842 OPS, one home run, eight doubles, 16 RBIs and 16 runs in 39 games (153 plate appearances) for Caracas.
He also threw out 6-of-13 base stealers (46%). He started 22 games at catcher and 14 games at first base. ....
