Manchester City s Pep Guardiola has been named manager of the year by England s League Managers Association, it was announced on Monday.
Guardiola steered City to the Premier League title and League Cup this season and this Saturday the Spaniard s side will bid to be crowned kings of Europe for the first time when they face English rivals Chelsea in the Champions League final in Porto.
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Guardiola topped a poll where the other leading contenders were Leeds Marcelo Bielsa, Norwich s Daniel Farke, Chelsea women s manager Emma Hayes, West Ham s David Moyes and Leicester s Brendan Rodgers. ....

But the former Arsenal striker wants supporters to channel the same energy into combatting abuse as they did when they stood up to the proposed European Super League last week.
A coalition of English football’s largest governing bodies and organisations, including the Football Association, Premier League and EFL, are to go silent on social media in a show of solidarity against racism. ....

Carlisle United will join clubs boycotting social media platforms Twitter, Facebook and Instagram next weekend
Carlisle United will take part in a social media BOYCOTT next weekend as part of football s protest against online racism and other forms of abuse.
The Blues, and their fellow professional clubs as well as leading football organisations, will post nothing on their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram platforms for three days.
The blackout will mean United will offer no official social media coverage of their game at Leyton Orient next Saturday.
The Cumbrians are also asking fans to join them in the boycott, as well as the club s players and staff. ....
