TCR Australia rookie Josh Buchan has taken his first race win in the category after controlling the first race at Sydney Motorsport Park, taking the HMO Customer Racing outfit back to the top step of the podium.
Buchan was slated to start second but was the benefactor of an issue for the pole-sitting car of Dylan O’Keeffe, having to still put up a fight against those behind him on the grid on the opening lap and later taking the lead back with one of the passes of the year, around the outside into the Turn 1 sweeper. ....

Tickford Racing will temporarily expand back out to a four-car team at select rounds this year as it announced today that reigning Super2 champion Thomas Randle would drive a wildcard entry throughout 2021.
A former international rising star and open-wheel specialist, Randle has shown strong form in previous Supercars appearances having taken a pair of 17th place finishes as a wildcard at the 2019 round at The Bend Motorsport Park for Tickford Racing, followed by a ninth, sixth, sixth and third in the endurance races with Lee Holdsworth. ....

Chaz Mostert’s TCR Australia championship lead has been extended even further after the Melbourne Performance Centre driver took his third win from three races at Mount Panorama.
Joining international star Néstor Girolami as the only driver in the category’s history to complete a clean sweep of a round, Mostert was able to notch up his fifth win of the year aboard the Audi RS 3 LMS after a late scrap for the lead in an incident shortened final race.
For the third straight race, Aaron Cameron was able to get the jump on pole-sitter Mostert off the line, leading into Hell Corner aboard the Garry Rogers Motorsport prepared Peugeot 308 TCR. Mostert was able to stick with the GRM car but had Cameron’s team-mate Jordan Cox in the #5 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR keeping him honest behind. ....

TCR Australia championship leader Chaz Mostert has taking the Melbourne Performance Centre Audi RS 3 LMS to the top step of the podium for the fourth time in five races after a strong fightback in the second Saturday race in Bathurst.
Heading in to the race after taking the lead late in the opening outing from Aaron Cameron, Mostert again had to fight the Garry Rogers Motorsport Peugeot 308 driver to take his second win of the round, further extending his championship lead despite running with 60kg of ballast.
Just as it was in race one, Cameron got the jump on the outside of the front row to lead the pack into Turn 1, checking out to hold a lead of over two seconds at the end of the first tour. ....

Chaz Mostert completed a clean sweep of victories in the final TCR Australia race at Bathurst, once again having to pass Aaron Cameron to claim the win in a safety-car interrupted race.
As in the previous two races this weekend, Mostert initially lost out in his Audi to the fast-starting Peugeot of Cameron, slotting into second at the very start.
The race was only half a lap old when it had to be neutralised for the first time when the Alfa Romeo of Lee Holdsworth, running in sixth at the time, stopped on track with a fire, his Ashley Seward Motorsport team having changed the turbo on his car just before the race. ....
