Warren fire kills two New Year's Day | News, Sports, Jobs


WARREN The city had no fire fatalities in 2020. It had two before the first sunrise of 2021.
A mother and her 5-year-old son were killed and two others suffered minor injuries in a house fire early Friday morning at 2853 Woodland St. NE.
“We got a call around 3:15 a.m. for a reported structure fire,” Warren Assistant Fire Chief Bill Monrean said.
According to a Trumbull County 911 report, initial calls indicated the fire was at the back of the house and the garage. Monrean said the fire still is under investigation, and he would not say where the fire started or where the two victims were found. ....

Dudley's Coaches used for Redditch school bus service closes for good


AFTER 18 years of providing transport for pupils from Redditch to Studley, the owner of a historic Worcestershire coach company has decided to retire and close the firm.
Chris Dudley made the “difficult decision” to retire and “bow out gracefully” after over 50 years in the business.
Dudley’s Coaches was based in Radford, near Inkberrow, and closed for good earlier this month.
In 1938, Chris’s father Ernie Dudley, opened a garage in Worcestershire selling fuel and repairing agricultural vehicles.
Chris left school in 1968 and joined the family business, by which time coach operation was a significant part of the company business. ....

Fraud artist back in prison after several breaches of conditions

A 45-year-old Nova Scotia man convicted of multiple theft and fraud offences has been hauled back into prison after several breaches of his release conditions.
Scott Lee Gray was on statutory release when he was found at his spouse s home.
The locations of the offences stretched from the Annapolis Valley to Dartmouth. Gray s crimes included selling cars he didn t own, and stealing storage sheds and gas, often using bad cheques.
Sex offences
But of particular concern to authorities was Gray s previous convictions for sex offences, which is why, when he was released, he was ordered to stay away from his spouse and children. Instead, Gray was to stay in an area motel. ....
