With the isolation that many of us have felt during the pandemic, mental health issues have become part of the conversation. The Alton Little Theater is hosting a free support group for teens struggling with isolation and despondency over the lack of extra-curricular activities. It is a six-week program that runs through February. ALT Executive Director Lee Cox tells The Big Z this is just for teens. Alton theater offers help for other art groups The Telegraph FacebookTwitterEmail ALTON Alton Little Theater’s (ALT) first agenda for 2021 is a “Pay It Forward” program aimed at helping local schools, arts organizations and other theater groups get back on their (performing) feet in grand style. The oldest community theater in Illinois, ALT has weathered the financial challenges of the national pandemic with the support of true “guardian angels,” Executive Director Lee Cox said. While ALT has learned to work in new and creative ways toward a restart goal in mid-March 2021, it also wants to help other organizations regain their ability to develop programs for the cultural enrichment of the whole community. ....
