Greenfield’s Superintendent Search Committee finalized with 17 members WALL Published: 3/11/2021 3:23:13 PM GREENFIELD The chair of the committee that will find a new Greenfield School Department superintendent has chosen 16 people to serve alongside her, and the School Committee approved all of them on Wednesday. School Committee member Jean Wall, who is heading the Superintendent Search Committee, said she chose more people than she had expected she originally said there would be 12 to 13 on the committee, and instead there are 17 including her. Wall began accepting letters of interest from parents, teachers, principals, union members, school administrators, business leaders, city councilors and anyone else who would like to help choose the Greenfield School Department’s next superintendent several weeks ago. She received 28 letters of interest and a few people spoke to her about helping. ....
LENOX, Mass. Downtown Lenox is utilizing sidewalks this holiday season by lining them with decorated trees. The first annual Holiday Tree Walk is happening through the month of December on Main Street, Housatonic Street, Walker Street, and Church Street. During this holiday season, these trees can be viewed in a safe, social distancing manner while browsing historical Lenox. The event is a collaboration with the Lenox Chamber of Commerce, the townolki9 ? and the Lenox Cultural District. It was a collaborative brainchild between the Cultural District and the Chamber of Commerce s Director Jennifer Nacht, the chamber s Creative Services Manager Deirdre McKenna said. It was something that came out of some of the discussions with the Cultural District committee members. ....
Liz Lafond, a consultant on superintendent searches for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, laid out a timeline the newly formed search committee on Thursday.
The committee will be finalizing questions for prospective candidates in January and, sometime around Feb. 7, review applicants and decide who they want to interview. This is aimed to only take one meeting but can be spread out over two meetings if necessary.
When finalists are selected, the chairman will present them to the full School Committee in early March.
Lafond highlighted that keeping the identity of applicants private is extremely important, as they often don t notify current employers that they are seeking employment elsewhere unless they are a finalist. ....
