Whether it’s nostalgia, design, or the actual practicality of it all, there are plenty of reasons to love old-school gadgets. With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to ask our staff here at Android Authority about their most cherished retro tech, as well as the older gadgets they’ve always wanted. Game Boy Advance David Imel Credit: Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority David’s pick for his top old-school gadget is 2001’s Game Boy Advance. “My entire childhood was Pokemon and Zelda, and I mean my ....
The 1More ComfoBuds support Bluetooth 5.0 and AAC Bluetooth streaming. The case can fast charge the earbuds, and supplies an additional 14 hours of battery life. The earbuds are available in Pearl White and Galaxy Black, and retail for $59.99. 1More is among the collection of audio companies trying to stand out during CES 2021, and it may well succeed with the 1More ComfoBuds. These are ultra compact, stemmed earphones that seal to the ear for a secure and comfortable fit. Touch controlled earbuds are a dime a dozen, but the ComfoBuds merit an IPX5 water-resistant rating, making them a suitable option for athletes. Unlike its other offerings, the ComfoBuds feature full-length stems, akin to the Apple AirPods, but 1More’s stem design is tapered. This gives the earphones a sleek, refined design that sets it apart from the deluge of AirPods competitors. ....
We love smartwatches here at Android Authority. However, not everyone needs a watch that’s connected to their phone. Not everyone wants notifications on their wrists or battery life that only goes for a few days at the max. Also, not everyone wants to spend hundreds of dollars on their watch. Sound Guys is happy with his G-Shock GA2110ET-8A for all those reasons and more. Here’s what he had to say about his favorite tech of 2020: I was never a big G-Shock guy until I saw the all-black G-Shock GA-2100-1A1, lovingly known as the “CasiOak.” I spent months trying to find one and then I finally managed to snag one towards the beginning of this year. But as is the case with watches, G-Shock then released another model that I fell in love with. This all-gray GA2110ET-8A. Luckily, I managed to pick one up before word of its existence got out. The overall aesthetic is minimal and being one of the slimmest watches G-Shock has ever released I find it wears super comfort ....
Specs have reportedly leaked for Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro. The true wireless earbuds could offer 28 hours of battery life and IPX7 water resistance. They would last about 20 percent longer than their Galaxy Live predecessor. There might not be much mystery left to the Galaxy Buds Pro by the time they’re official. Well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal has given 91mobiles what he says are full specs for the Galaxy Buds Pro, and they’re good news if battery life is a deciding factor in your choice of true wireless earbuds. The combination of the buds and their case will reportedly offer a total 28 hours of playback, Agarwal said. If the specs are accurate, that gives the Galaxy Buds Pro significantly more battery life than the 21 hours of the Galaxy Buds Live. It’s not certain if that translates to improved longevity for the buds themselves, although a separate WalkingCat leak hinted a Pro set might last up to eight hours before you need the case. ....
Apple made 2020 the year of active noise-canceling 2020 received plenty of criticism, and for good reason. However, it’s been a good year for the noise-canceling earbuds market. If you’re clued into consumer audio trends, you know that 2020 was the year of active noise-canceling (ANC). We witnessed a meteoric rise in true wireless ANC earbuds and ANC Bluetooth headsets. In fact, you’ve probably been served a few ads featuring noise-canceling technology. Let’s dig into what made noise-canceling so successful during this otherwise difficult year. Apple made ANC commonplace Whether you love Apple, or love to hate Apple, it’s hard to deny that the Cupertino company paved the way for ANC’s success this year. Apple strategically released the noise-canceling AirPods Pro right before the 2019 holiday season kicked into full gear. This, of course, happens to be the best time for individuals to request frivolous, overpriced gifts, including earbuds. ....
