Alibaba to build first data center in Philippines by end of 2021

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing subsidiary of Alibaba Group, announced on Tuesday, June 8, its plans to build its first data center in the Philippines by the end of this year.
The subsidiary s offerings span cloud computing, database, security, machine learning, and data analytics services. A local data center will improve working efficiency for customers within the region.
“Cloud computing has become central to the digitalization of businesses in the Philippines and around Asia. With our first data center in the country, we will be able to better support Philippine enterprises in adopting cloud technologies and preparing for a digital-first future, said Leo Liu, general manager for Hong Kong, Macau, and Philippines, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
