Tuesday afternoon, the Texas Rangers selected the fourth-year junior catcher with in the 9th Round of the MLB Draft with the 254th overall pick. Hicks was one of nine catchers recently added to the official watch list, with semifinalists named on May 20 and finalists slated to be announced on June 7. The award was formerly known as the Johnny Bench Award before being renamed after the former Florida State catcher. ....
