Indianapolis preschool director Renee Dixon is a shining example of this breed of exemplary educators. In the months leading up to Christmas, Dixon took it upon herself to make sure that all 50 children who attend Lynhurst Baptist Church Preschool would be assured a visit from Santa.
So, her community rallied together and donated money to buy her a car!

Renee Dixon is the director of the Lynhurst Baptist Church Preschool in Indianapolis. Many of the kids are children of parents who have worked as essential workers during the pandemic, and nearly all are from families that fall at or below the poverty line.
Renee couldn t stand the thought of her students going without Christmas presents this holiday season so she started driving Uber on weekends to make some extra cash to buy them gifts.
The word got out about Renee s amazing act of generosity and the donations started pouring in!

A preschool director takes a second job as a ride-share driver so she could buy presents for her students. She wants to make sure that her students would have a memorable holiday.
According to The Washington Post, Renee Dixon knew many families whose children are enrolled at Lynhurst Baptist Church Preschool in Indianapolis would have a hard time. She said that many of them do not have money to buy presents for their kids.
Parents lost their jobs
The 47-year-old knew that some parents lost their jobs, while others have their wages cut back. She told the outlet that many of her students came from a low-income family, while others are below the poverty line. ....
