Exhibition expected to boost travel, tourism in South Florida
The exhibition will present a selection of 192 artifacts from royal tombs, many of which have never been seen out of Peru. The artifacts in the exhibition are on loan from Museo Larco in Lima, Peru, and Museo de Sitio Manuel Chávez Ballón in Aguas Calientes, Peru. It s really incredible to see what started as a dream come to life, said Andrés Álvarez Calderón, president of Museo Larco.
The exhibition, which will make the first stop of its international tour on Oct. 16, will encompass the entire museum. During their visit to the exhibition, at one of the immersive galleries, guests will be above the clouds of the Andes mountains, looking down at Machu Picchu, said Anthony Tann, president and chairman of World Heritage Exhibitions.

World Heritage Exhibitions announced today the world premiere of Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru, opening on October 16, 2021. The first stop of a worldwide tour will take place at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Cityneon presents the exhibition with support from the Government of Peru, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, and in partnership with Inkaterra Asociacion. Covid restrictions lifted just in time to allow the 22nd NZ Antique & Classic Boat Show to go ahead as a one-day event on Sunday (March 7).
The annual show held annually at Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park usually runs over two days, but drew a good crowd on Sunday, with close to 30 late registrations making up for those unable to travel from Auckland.
The wooden power boat Rita took the Jens Hansen Trophy, having been towed up from Tarras by her owner, Michael Hayman. The 6m boat was built in Waimate, with an open cockpit designed after boats used on Sydney Harbour.
