Alan Pergament: Linda Pellegrino takes a trip down memory lane as she says goodbye


As anyone who has watched WKBW-TV’s “AM Buffalo” for 30 years knows, host Linda Pellegrino likes to talk.
So, I suppressed laughter when Pellegrino said she asked for only two minutes to say goodbye at the end of her final show Friday.
After reminiscing with her for 30 minutes, I thought Pellegrino deserved a prime-time special. In the wide-ranging interview, she discussed memorable moments with Howard Stern, Sam Elliott, Robert Duvall, Warren Beatty and Eliot Spitzer.
She was so open that she even addressed being troubled when the morning program went to more and more paid segments.
“It bothered me as more and more segments were taking over the show,” said Pellegrino. “The concern was that the show wasn t for the community anymore. It was for the sponsors. That management is gone. I currently have a management that s much more about the community involvement back on the show, which has been really nice.” ....

Rockport closes on $74M refi' to upgrade Queens senior housing


Rockport Mortgage Corporation has closed a $74.5 million FHA Section 223(f) refinancing loan for Israel Senior Citizen Housing I and II, a 512-unit HUD-subsidized property for the elderly located in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens, NY.
The property consists of two 17-story elevatored buildings and is owned by JASA Corporation and managed by JASA Housing Management Services for the Aged.  
Israel Senior Citizen Housing I and II was constructed in 1966 and developed for elderly housing under HUD’s Section 202 Direct Loan Program.  
The property had previously been refinanced under the FHA’s Section 223(f) Loan Program.  The development has benefited from a total of four Project-Based Section 8 Contracts covering 481 units. An additional 30 units are rent restricted by the original HUD Section 202 Use Agreement. ....
