Starting next week, Wednesdays will be a virtual learning day. Individual schools could return to reduced capacity or all-virtual, depending on COVID-19 conditions in the future. Facebook Share Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh and Syracuse Police Chief Kenton Buckner have announced the appointment of Jimmy Oliver to the Syracuse Police Department’s first director of community engagement. Oliver, who has been the city’s deputy commissioner of parks, recreation and youth programs since June 2018, will join the department in a civilian role responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing community engagement programming, the city announced in a news release this week. ....
