After three years of steady growth, the Quad Cities Yoga Foundation, founded by alumni from Western Illinois University’s School of Education, is seeking to grow their professional development and yoga in classrooms services in the Quad Cities for those who would benefit from yoga, and have the need for the services such as those exiting jails, drug rehabilitation centers, and those who cannot afford to pay for yoga classes.
April 21, 2021 MACOMB, IL- The Western Electronic Gaming Association (WEGA) is hosting Smash Bash Esports tournament from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Western Illinois University s Student Recreation Center.
Pre-registration is required to play. Registration is $7, or $5 if participants bring their own switch.
Participants will get to compete against each other by either being in the same location, or being in any place with a solid WiFi connection.
Acting President of the WEGA, Benjamin Hironimus-Wendt, said virtual tournaments will take place like any other sort of tournament, where a player or a team of players will be set to play a match at a certain time.

MACOMB/MOLINE Six students were inducted into Western Illinois University s chapter of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the National Communication Association s student honor fraternity, during the Spring 2021 semester.
The Pi Pi Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta inductees are Terry C. Smith, a junior communication major, Canton; Kelsey Cook, a senior communication major, Bettendorf, Iowa; Rebecca Aderoju, a graduate student communication major, Nigeria; Gabriella Gonzalo, a junior communication major, Ottawa; Lissette Cavazos, a senior communication major, Waukegan; and Emma Formhals, a senior speech pathology and audiology major, Canton.
Communication majors and minors with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA (grade point average), a 3.25 GPA in communication (with a minimum of 12 hours in communication) who have also accumulated at least 60 hours are eligible for membership in the organization.

This two-week program is available only for students in grades 9-12. Program cost is $100.
