This afternoon (29 May), point-to-point action will get underway at Bratton Down in Devon for the Exmoor Foxhounds fixture, and you can watch all of the sport from the comfort of your sofa right here, thanks to the livestreaming service provided by Devon and Cornwall Point-To-Point Horse Racing. The livestream will be hosted by the presentation team, lead by former BBC voice of racing Cornelius Lysaght. He will be joined by former Grade One-winning jockey Lizzie Kelly, betting pundit Simon Nott and Devon and Cornwall Point-To-Point Horse Racing press officer Donna Harris. ....

Second helping of Love in Lockdown will be served later this month Reporter: ); ); Lockdown has placed restrictions on most aspects of people’s lives, but Barnstorm Theatre Company and Barn Owl Players continue to prove that even the most ardent of lockdowns has not put a barrier on the arts. Beginning with their successful monologue virtual production, Zoom BOP: Confinement, last September, the two companies set out to up the stakes by producing, Love in Lockdown, a series of newly written short plays. The plan was to produce five new works, but when the call went out for submissions, the calibre was high, and Love In Lockdown became a two-part event with five new short plays in each show. ....
7:13PM, APR 19 2021 Lorna Brooke was a talented amateur jockey who rode 17 winners under rules in Britain and Ireland and took more than 400 rides. Brooke also rode 40 point-to-point winners, often when carrying her mother s orange and brown colours, and travelled far and wide to pursue her passion from her base in the Welsh borders. She made her debut under rules on Hag s Way as a teenager in February 2002 for her mother Lady Susan Brooke and celebrated her first winner aboard Super Nomad in the Ludlow Gold Cup Hunters Chase in April 2007 before the pair followed up at the track in March 2008. ....
AMATEUR rider Lorna Brooke died in hospital on Sunday following a fall at Taunton earlier this month, the Injured Jockeys Fund (IFJ) has announced. Brooke was riding Orchestrated for her mother, Lady Susan Brooke, when falling at the third fence in the Pontispool Equine Sports Centre Handicap Chase on April 8. Racing was delayed by more than hour as she was treated on track, before being transferred into an air ambulance. A statement issued by the IJF on Friday said Brooke was in a “critical, but stable condition” in intensive care at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, and had been placed in an induced coma due to “various complications” during the week. ....
