Wichita area teen sentenced in mother’s 2018 shooting death A Wichita area teenager has been given two years of probation for charges related to the shooting death of his mother at their home three years ago. The teen appeared in Sedgwick County district court Friday. He had pleaded no contest in June to aggravated battery and criminal use of a weapon.
