Candidates for various positions around Tinley Park are officially in the running for mayor, village board and of course, park board. The Tinley Park Park District has three seats for Park Commissioner available in the April 2021 election. The park district said three people have submitted paperwork to run for Park Commissioner this year. The three candidates include incumbent, President Marie B. Ryan, and newcomers Lisa O Donovan and Don Cuba. Park Boards are responsible for creating and enabling policies. Commissioners are responsible for passing ordinances and resolutions, similar to village and city board members. The board also is responsible for adopting budgets, appointing committees and more. ....

Brendan Benny Deegan, a 56-year-old from Tullamore, Co Offaly was given a six-month suspended sentence last Friday , December 11, after the Circuit Court was told he had paid the money. However, a condition of the suspension is that he is disqualified from keeping any animals on any land for life. A sentencing hearing in June was told dogs were being kept in sheds which were dark and bleak, their food and water was contaminated, and most of them, including nursing dogs and pregnant bitches, had flea infestations. ....
