Star of ITV s The Bay and his links to Bristol Taheen Modak spent time in Bristol whilst training to be an actor Updated ITV’s The Bay returned to our screens in January for a second season, starring some familiar faces and also some new ones. The long-awaited second instalment of the police drama, which consists of six episodes, began with DC Lisa Armstrong being forced to do menial police work whilst watching colleague DS Med Karim, go from strength to strength. WHAT IT S ABOUT: Lisa Armstrong, a detective sergeant family liaison officer, is called on to investigate a case of missing twins. She is shocked to find out the prime suspect was someone she had a one-night-stand with on the same night that the twins went missing. WHAT WE THOUGHT: The Bay has the makings of a thrilling crime drama – it s set in a seaside town, has a hard-faced detective and enough suspicious subjects to keep you guessing as to who the guilty party is. However, where it fails is in the execution. The series starts with Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie), a single mom who goes out for a night on the town with her friends. While at a bar she meets a random, hot stranger, the two have some casual sex in an alleyway, and apparently, that is it for the two of them. But come on, we all know how this goes. It is bound to come back and bite her. I mean, when do we spend five minutes of precious introduction time on a sex scene that isn t important later?

CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews a DeLorean documentary and a new drama

CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews a DeLorean documentary and a new drama Christopher Stevens for Daily Mail © Provided by Daily Mail MailOnline logo DeLorean: Back From The Future  Rating: 3/5 The essence of television s current obsession with true crime is not murder. The serial killers, the stalkers, the maniacs, the cannibals, they re all incidental. What has us hooked is the psychology behind the crimes. John Zachary DeLorean didn t kill anyone. But his entire life, from his first cheap scams to his $100 million car swindle, was a criminal enterprise. DeLorean: Back From The Future (BBC2) told us from the start that this man, whose knife-blade sports car with its looming wings epitomised 1980s excess, was a complex phoney. I don t think he is just one person. I think he is several people, and he presents a side of himself like the side of a prism that he wants you to see, warned one contributor.
