LaRue Bratcher, 34, is increasingly speaking out against the Bratcher’s upcoming trial on a list of charges connected to the shooting and killing of a man who was allegedly trying to break into Bratcher’s business.
Bratcher, who is Black, is charged with pulling the trigger and killing

News, video shows that on May 27, 2020, Hardwick parked his car at the rear of Bratcher’s business around 1:00 a.m. and “jostle[d] with the door handle, attempting to gain entry.” Bratcher’s business grew medical marijuana, and May 27 was the second night in a row that Hardwick had shown up, the report said. ....

LaRue Bratcher, a 34-year-old Black Army veteran from Oklahoma, remains behind bars on a charge of first-degree murder more than a year after he shot and killed a white man allegedly trying to break into his marijuana grow business.
With his trial date delayed until later this year, Bratcher’s family and friends and members of the Oklahoma City community are rallying behind him, saying the murder charge is unjust.

An Oklahoma veteran and father of five is preparing to go to trial to face a first-degree murder charge after he fatally shot a burglar attempting to rob his marijuana business.
Last May, 42-year-old Daniel Hardwick was attempting to burglarize 34-year-old LaRue Bratcher s grow shop when Bratcher opened fire and killed Hardwick. Bratcher reportedly intended to fire three warning shots at Hardwick, who was attempting to break in for a second consecutive night.
He was trying to break in when the business owner, who was inside the business at the time, apparently opened fire with a handgun, striking and killing the man who was breaking in, said Master sergeant Gary Knight. ....
