I moved away from home in 1990, never dreaming in a million years that I would stay away. Now that I am a mother myself, I often think of my own childhood and I see my mom in such a different light. She had three girls, didn’t work outside the home, kept an immaculate house, washed and ironed all our clothes, and cooked every meal. I never heard Anna Marie complain about housekeeping. In fact, I disliked her during my teenage years because she was hard on us when it came to keeping up with her standards. ....
