Cheyenne Lawyer Censured For Not Correcting False Testimony In Pot Case
Amy Richards, Townsquare Media
Cheyenne attorney David E. Singleton has been censured by the Wyoming Supreme Court for not identifying testimony by a law enforcement officer in a marijuana trafficking case as being false.
That s according to a news release from the Wyoming State Bar. According to the release, Singleton brought charges in 2020 as a prosecutor against a pair of hemp farmers, a construction contractor, and the contractor s wife. They were accused of conspiracy to manufacture deliver or possess marijuana, felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, felony possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor cultivation of marijuana.
The Laramie County District Attorney s Office has still yet to charge anyone in the death of 2-year-old Athian Rivera, whose body was found in a dumpster in Cheyenne three months ago.
The boy s body was found after he was reported missing from his home at 514 Desmet Drive on Feb. 19.
Cheyenne police have recommended 27-year-old Wyatt Lamb who s being held without bond pending trial and bond revocation evidentiary proceedings in a strangulation case involving Rivera s mother Kassandra Orona be charged with murder and aggravated child abuse in the toddler s death. I do know that conversations have been had about that case, police spokeswoman Alex Farkas told KGAB Radio Wednesday, saying that District Attorney Leigh Anne Grant Manlove and County Coroner Rebecca Reid met with police last week.
A Wyoming man suspected of killing a toddler boy apparently strangled the child’s mother previously but was still living with her despite a judge ordering him not to.
Laramie Live reports that Laramie County District Court Judge Catherine Rogers ordered 27-year-old Wyatt Lamb to remain behind bars without bail for breaking his bond conditions from a previous charge. Although Lamb is suspect of killing 1-year-old Athian Rivera, the prosecution hasn’t yet charged him since the initial autopsy reports were inconclusive.
Lamb was arrested, however, for reportedly breaking bond requirements after he was found to be living with the child’s mother, Kassandra Orona, who he’s accused of strangling during an unrelated case that occurred last year. The victim told police at the time that Lamb hit her in the back of the head and put her in a chokehold from behind.
