2021 Lawrence County Tourism Budget Is Approved – WBIW

(LAWRENCE CO.) – The Lawrence County Tourism budget of $330,531 for 2021 was approved by the Lawrence County Council.
Tonya Chastain Lawrence County Tourism director gave the county council members an update on the 2020 tourism season.
Chastain reported receipts were down about 25 percent, with some of the biggest decreases in revenue around May and June. However, October was a good month with outdoor activities. Revenue for the Month of October was up about $1,800.
Outdoor recreation was one of the biggest means of attracting many to Lawrence County during this pandemic.
Spring Mill State Park had a total of 720,000 visitors this year, but two months of that was without any gate fees. ....
